Hey guys...
Soo.. I finally joined after getting 2 flyers on my car, you guys are kind of persistant! LoL

Do you guys meet up often?

I have a '96 Camaro Z28SS, white w/black stripes..It is all stock as of right now, it does have "new" rebuilt motor but its still the stock 5.7 LT1 that came factory. It is also, sadly, has an automatic transmission. Im sure you guys have seen it around town at least once, if not I will be suprised! fyi I do talk bout my car like she is a person...alot.. so you will have to not judge me much bc well... I just cant help it! haha So what does everyone else have!
P.S. My car's name is Kate...

Welcome! You can view most of our members' cars on our main site under 'Members' and also, you can join our FB group if you've not yet done so. We get together and grab somethin to eat maybe once a month on average, or whenever we feel like it. So are you a student/what's your major?

Also, bad luck to name a car you know Wink

nice car it looks good i dont have any good pics of my car up but it is a 1995 formula and its about to get a new motor 355 LT1

Welcome, yes I have seen your car around. Looks awesome! Don't worry, I speak to my car like it is a she. Unfortunately I cuss her sometimes too! I drive a black 1991 Z28 with some chrome Z06's. NOT to be confused with a recently spotted black 1991 with a lift kit, nasty big wheels and mexi-style chrome fenderlips!

Yea the SS's are actually Z28's with the SS performance package, Hence the Z28-SS.
Just like a WS-6 package is to a Formula or Trans-Am

I have never heard bout it being bad luck to name ur cars.. I havnt been stranded w/her yet so Im gona just say that I have unusual luck as it is so Im goin w/it! LoL

Z28SS- It is the special edition SS, in 96 and 97 they made a handful of Z28SS's. Im not sure of the exact differences it has tho. I have functional ram air. The only thing different about my hood is the fact that its fiberglass...
I usually just tell everyone it is just an SS, because I get people telling me I have no idea what Im talking about LoL

Oh P.S. My major here at OSU is Apparel Design minor in Accounting. I should be graduating sometime next year... we shall see if that actually happens!

Haha okay, I've been trying to look stuff up on the Z28 SS. I'm still confused. Is it a Z28 with just the SS appearance ? Because if it had both SS appearance AND engine tweaks, it'd simply be an SS.. right? Or did they just combine the names in 1996 since that was the year they brought the SS back and they wanted to confuse everyone.

It is an SS all around.. has everything that as SS does but it says Z28SS on the emblems inside the car. the appearance and engine tweaks are all SS.. yea.. I dnt quite get it either.. I just tried to look up some stuff bout it too... there is one other person I found in Stilly that has one too.. it is red w/T-tops

No internal engine tweaks, SLP installed ram air, exhaust, hood, spoiler, emblems, better shock dampeners maybe springs too. Chevy sent the Z28's to SLP to become SS's just as Pontiac sent the T/A and formulas to become WS-6's there. However, HP and TQ did increase because of these changes. The LS1 cars where converted "in house" because completely building a car and shipping it down the road to have the OE hood spoiler exhuast etc... stripped off and replaced was not too efficient.

. Mine is the red Camaro without the black stripes. It now has black rims on it. Don't feel bad about having an auto, most everyones are autos.

Thank you for clarifying! I dont feel so "in the dark" bout my own car now! LoL And that all makes sense to me... so mayyybe you are right!

I only feel bad bout my car being an auto.. bc standards are so much more fun! It's more of a challenge to drive and be good at it...so if you have a standard and you can drive it well it shows you've got skills. LoL and I like to be able to drive/shift like I want not how Kate thinks I want to drive LoL

On the outside it says SS... you would think it would say z28ss but it doesnt. There is a sticker across the front window that says Camaro SS too.. Maybe I should switch it to one that says Z28SS?? LoL idk but she is #565 out of the handful they made..
